Guest Speaker
Richard Parker
'The Children's University'
The Children's University is a program that provides extra-curriculum learning activities for children aged 5-14 years and Richard is the Coordinator for the Upper Spencer Gulf.
The Children's University aims to develop free-thinking and inquisitive children who have a 'can-do' attitude and enjoy learning. The volunteer teachers provide the structure for the program and ensure that the program is a fun experience for those involved.
At the end of each year, as the children complete their various tasks, they participate in a Graduation Ceremony attended by parents' family and friends
Richard also brought along some of the interesting props that he uses to get the children interested, such as some very ancient fossils and a tiny piece of the Apollo 11 spacecraft which landed on the moon in 1969.
Richard is pictured (left) receiving his thankyou gift from Lesley.

Here we are at the UniVibe. The Mobile Catering Unit was at the University of South Australia, Whyalla Campus at the 'UniVibe' day. It was a pleasure to provide our famous donuts and chips to those who were there
Last week had the pleasure of donating Rotary Club of Whyalla Boomerang bags to the newly refurbished Library. The book bags made by Lesley and her wonderful team of helpers.
