Meeting Notes
Members Highlights
Keith and Kerre experienced an international evening when they were both invited to the Filipino Cultural Association Valentines Day Dinner at Club Italico, where they ate Chinese Dinner, and finished with English Fruit and Custard dessert. Shelley celebrated her 70th Birthday and spent the whole week wining and dining. Brian Herd accidentally broke most of the sails on a model ship his father had built and Leanne spent most of the week on the overlocker making repairs. Greg helped out a mate who is going through a rough spot by arranging to rent a bigger house that they can share. Gary Misan had a family get-together and caught up with former Whyalla resident Brian Marshall.
GUEST SPEAKER
Gary Misan - The Whyalla Man's Shed
The concept of a Men's Shed for Whyalla was first proposed by Gary in 2012 when an Interest Meeting was held in conjunction with UniSA. Gary did most of the legwork in incorporating the group and obtaining Charity Status. In 2014 they secured premises in Williams Street which was the former site of the Holy Trinity Church.
Since then, the Shed has flourished and has a membership of 50 who participate in various activities including wood work, metal work, refurbishing furniture, gardening and a host of other things. The social aspect is also one of the primary benefits of frequenting The Shed. Click on the link below to visit their website.
If you are unable to attend a Club Meeting or function your apology can be made to Secretary Brian Herd 0410 313 271 before 12 noon on the day of the meeting
