  • Hot metal is again flowing from the blast furnace.
  • Kerre visited the Rotary Clubs of Warracknabeal and Robinvale and brought back a Club Banner from each.

  • The Whyalla Show is coming up and a working bee is required at the Pavilion to spruce it up. A date of 10th & 11th August was agreed.
  • The Rotary Club of Dubbo South will be here for lunch on Wednesday 14th, August. Help is required to set-up the marquee at 10 am.
Reports.
Service Projects: Brian Herd
  • Following up on last week's meeting Brian reiterated the point that he is looking to share the workload of club events more broadly.  As part of this process, a list of jobs and processes o setting up the MCU for an event will be written to make this particular process less of a mystery and less daunting. Various others have put their names against various projects to support the process overall.
  • Cassandra has been nominated to attend RYPEN in November.
  • Brian, Leanne and Kerre will join the Rotary Club of Northern Yorke Peninsula for their Cowell weekend.
  • The Rotary Club of Dubbo South will be visiting on August 14th for lunch which is being provided in conjunction with the local RFDS Support Group. Help is required to set up the marquee and tabled on the day. We visited their website and viewed a map of the Outback Trip,
  • Keith has received a commitment from Beyond Bank staff that they will be able to help us at the Whyalla Show and a Roster has been sent to them. Keith also asked for names from Rotarians.

Treasurer
Keith provided the financials for 2023-24, with the Club in a sound financial position. For this year, we have paid our District and R.I. Subs and are up to date with each of those commitments.

During July, Rotary celebrates Maternal and Child Health Month. It is an opportunity to reflect on the current status of maternal and child health around the globe, how Rotary members contribute to addressing issues at the community level, and further take the steps to analyze our collective impacts on health systems.
