THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
If its worth doing, it's worth doing well.

PRESIDENT'S REMARKS - President Jane Owens.
  • Don't forget to attend the Changeover Dinner at the Hockey club on Saturday

THE RAFFLE raised $53, with Keith taking home 1st Prize and Kerre 2nd Prize.

GUEST SPEAKER
Jane Owens- The Rotary Foundation

Jane was giving a presentation on the work of The Rotary Foundation to members of the University of the 3rd Age and thought she would give it a 'test run' on us.
As it turned out, it proved very educational for all of us as well.
Generally, when people purchase food from our Mobile Catering Unit, they have little idea where the money goes. many perhaps realise that it goes into local community projects, but they don't realise that they are also providing a child somewhere in the world immunization against Polio or contributing to food and water sanitation programs around the world.
Many also do not realise that none of the money is used for our Club Administration, Christmas Dinners or anything else of an admin nature. 100% of the profits we make goes back to programs, either here in Whyalla or somewhere else around the world.
Jane also made the point that by contributing to The Rotary Foundation, some of that money is returned to the District which the Club can access for community grants.
