Keith reported the financial outcome Whyalla Show and despite the trade appearing slow at times, gross takings were just a little better than last year. Leanne added that due to our new location, the after-fireworks rush for donuts returned.

Club History - Keith Sichler
This time Keith went back to Meeting 2158 on the 15th of July 1997. By all accounts this could have been the Changeover Meeting for that year as both the Past President (Dave Ireson) and New President (Keith Wilson) had things to say.
In reflecting on the past year PP Dave noted that progress had been made on establishing Rotary Park at the Foreshore, we had supported youth in sports and science, changed our meeting night from Thursdays to Tuesdays (still at the Bayview Hotel) and changed our Bylaws to allow for the admission of female members.
Looking forward, we nominated Glen Eden as District Governor for 2000-01. Glen, as the DG's Representative, advised that changes were being made so that each District would be divided into Zones to ease the burden on the DG. The DG Rep would undertake much of the admin work on behalf of the DG, but the DG would still turn up for important events. There was also a new drive to eliminate Polio called Target 2000.
