PREZ KEZ SAYS
Kerre had a fun meeting with the board the previous week. Getting online was a challenge but it was held successfully
Kerre wants the 75th anniversary committee to meet in August.
Kerre is looking into grants for her year (2026/2027)
Kerre shared that there is an event being planned for world Peace Day (21st September) at the peace poles.
Kerre plans to share with the club how we are progressing with our club excellence awards (formerly known as citations).
Sandra Flu and Jacquie Kranz are looking for emergency kits for rape victims. they need clothing packs.
Cassandra will join the club when she goes back to university.
Stuart was invited to the changeover but did not respond.
memberships subs will be $250 this year.
The raffle at the changeover made $274, which will be donated to the red cross. Kerre mentioned that she is grateful to Leanne for putting up photos on Facebook.
Kerre will make a pie chart to explain the results from the members survey. Just over 50% of members wanted to continue the program promoted by Leanne, 2 meetings a month plus a Sunday session.
Kerre is keen for the Whyalla club to have a sister Rotary Club.
Kerre is looking for suggestions for speakers e.g. Shannon Doebel from Surf life Saving, or the District Governor.
Kerre is keen to have more joint meetings with the Norrie club, sharing speakers and having the meetings at our club.

MEMBERS HIGHLIGHTS

Jane: I’m back
Brian 1: no one has died so things are ok.
Perry: nothing to say.
Greg: New puppy at home, which is exciting, but my dog, Captain Jack, hates him. (the new dog’s name is Billy)
Brian 2: comments about the red card against the USA player in the world cup was removed, thanks to unwarranted interference by the world’s best known pumpkin, President Donald Trump. Thankfully, the universe intervened and Belgium defeated the hosts thoroughly, with a beautiful 4 – 1 margin.
Leanne: we brought home a map of the world and have been putting pins in where we have visited, however are not counting airports.
Keith: Had fun at the changeover dinner and has been having fun at his home as the school holidays have allowed him to spend time with his grandchildren. He took them to 10 pin bowling but did not report if he won or lost, which leads this chronicler to suggest that he got thumped by at least one of his grandchildren.
Shelley: Not as positive about the school holidays as Keith as she has had 4 boys at her house today. She says that she is cursing the school holidays but did not share what she was saying, which is probably just as well.
Kerre: was very pleased with the changeover and was delighted with the speech given by Andrea Grosvenor, who spoke about ARAM (Australian Rotarians Against Malaria). Kerre was not so pleased that she stabbed herself when putting on the new badge for being president.

A PROUD PRESIDENT KERRE GIVING JANE HER WELL-DESERVED PAUL HARRIS MEDAL

AS HER FIRST FORMAL ACT AS PRESIDENT OF THE WHYALLA CLUB AT A MEETING, KERRE ASKED THE MEMBERSHIP TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE EFFORTS OF LONG-TERM TREASURER KEITH, FOR THE YEARS OF HIS CAREFUL FINANCIAL EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF THE CLUB
