Meeting Notes
President's Remarks - PE Leanne
The Bedford Shed. Barry Chilton has the 'all clear' from Head Office to proceed with the construction. We are also invited to their 'Open Day' on Fed 6th from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm. Jane, Brian and Leanne have accepted.
Lesley and Jane have arranged a Boomerang Bag Label design with Bedford.
Shelley is on the mend after injuring her back and ending up in hospital.
Secretary - Brian Herd.
Meals Ordering: In an effort to streamline the flow of meetings, meal orders will be taken in the Meeting Room promptly at 6:30 p.m. after which the formal meeting will begin. It was suggested we complete an Order Sheet when we arrive, that can be handed to our waitress when we have all arrived.
There is a working bee to clean and set up the MCU on Sat. 18th January in readiness for the Australia day event.
Foodbank are desperately seeking volunteers. They have also offered a tour of the facility.
Members Highlights
Kerrie has new hearing aids and can now clearly hear the cockateel next door. Greg went to Adelade for the Big Bash cricket where the Strikers smashed the Heat. Greg also got a little smashed as well and a tad feisty. Just as well he wasn't wearing his Rotary shirt!. Perry witnessed a car catching fire outside his house and the exploding gas bottles created a crowd of onlookers which Perry had to politely ask to move on so he could get his car out and come to Rotary. Keith went to the WFL AGM and came home as its President. Leanne and Brian caught up with family in Adelaide on the weekend and also caught up with Robyn and Alistair at Westland.
CLUB HISTORY
Keith dug deep into the pictorial archives to find some pictures of the 1983 Changeover, held at the South Whyalla Football Clubrooms. A good crowd attended to see Randall white handover the Presidency to Jim Duncan and Hugo Ehrke receive a Paul Harris Fellow. There were photos of a debonair Damon Harding and a stunning performance by the 'ROTITS' who shall all remain nameless for obvious reasons if you saw the photographs.
