In opening this bulletin the Editor has to admit that she did not save the work she did at the meeting.  Please bear with me.  I am sure some things will be missed or wrong but I will fix it in the next bulletin.

Reports

Jane: Brian Leanne and I went to see Barry Chilton at the Bedford Group - Brian gave a rundown of the needs of the project.
Last week I attended the awards night at the University, our winner was Charlotte Roberts who unfortunately was not there as she is overseas.  Mic was unable to attend at the last minute due to work.  The meeting discussed a particular issue and Jane will follow it up with the Uni and Lee and report back to the meeting
Called Jeff from Dubbo regarding the upcoming Assistance with the lunch, on August 14.  Still to phone Darryl Boothy
Has had a discussion with Michele Wachla regarding the Haven and how we might help them.  More details to come

Highlights

This is one of the areas I cannot remember.
For some of us the highlight was the van being out at the week-end.  Keith told us he was having dinner with the SA Governor General, her Excellency, the Honourable Frances Adamson AC.  I will pick up the rest and post them in the next bulletin
There is no chance I will remember the sergeant session🤪 But let me just say that Larisa did a great job.

Speaker tonight
Perry Eden

His life

Perry, in his unique and inimitable way gave us a wonderful rundown of his life from his birth, where he was born, where he and his parents moved to.  How surprised he was when he got a baby sister.  In those days it was not discussed as a family, and when Fiona arrived, Perry was happy but wondered just how that happened. 😏
Perry had a very interesting study and work life, he took us through his university days and all the places he worked.  Ending up back here in Whyalla.
then cam the part we were all waiting for - well the girls were - how he met Natalia.  From a conversation in a supermarket to his travels to Russia, well Siberia, where he met Nata and her family.  He was determined he was not leaving Russia without Marrying her. That was an amazing task in itself, with all the legalities of it.  It all came to fruition and Perry came back to Whyalla to prepare for his bride coming.  I remember at the time his friends in the Rotary club of Whyalla, were all very excited for him and looking forward to meeting Nata and Sergei.  It all happened, we met Nata and her son and we could see Perry was very happy.  As they say in the fairytales 'and they all lived happily every after'
Above is a photo graph of Perry and his family at Perry's Changeover.
