May 2024 is
Youth Service Month

May is Rotary International Youth Service Month when the focus is on young people and the development of the next generation of leaders
By nurturing youth, Rotarians can provide the skills young people need to succeed as future community leaders. Youth Programs provide Rotarians the opportunity to develop their own leadership and communication skills and also provides for many incredible moments!
Youth service refers to non-military, intensive engagement of young people in organized activity that contributes to the local, national, or world community. Youth service is widely recognized and valued by society, with minimal or no compensation to the server.

AG Leanne Herd
Advanced Care Plans

AG Leanne has been approached by the University of SA, to join a team who are going out into the public to spread the word about the importance of Advance Car Plans.

Leanne showed us a video, where they were asking the question "What do they know about what their partners would want"   Do we know what our loved ones really want?  Advanced Care directives are very important.

Advance care planning involves planning for your future health care and communicating your treatment preferences.

Advance care planning involves planning for your future health care. It enables you to make some decisions now about the health care you would or would not like to receive if you were to become seriously ill and unable to communicate your preferences or make treatment decisions.

Ideally, advance care planning will result in your preferences being documented in a plan known as an advance care directive and the appointment of a substitute decision-maker to help ensure your preferences are respected.
