University visit with Lauren Shivvaan. Lauren teaches Foundation Studies at the University College, which is still part of the Univerity. Foundation studies is a pathway to university for people who did not achieve a sufficient entry score. It is mainly focused on social work but along the way improves the student's literacy capabilities and prepares them for university expectations and life. As a general statistic, 85% of people who undertake the Foundation Studies program go on to study at University. No surprise however that due to Lauren’s dedication and leadership that Whyalla achieves 100%. Our recent Glen Eden Excellence in Mental Health Award winner Melissa Schenck is a graduate of the Program.
