Celebrating Local Students’ Community Contributions

Overview

Each year, the Rotary Club of Whyalla acknowledges outstanding students from local high schools for their valuable contributions to the community. 2025 Award Recipients

  • Samaritan College: The award was presented to Miley Wilson, honouring her dedication and service. Past District Governor Jane Owens had the privilege of attending the ceremony.
  • Sunrise Christian School: This year's recipient was Calean Kaminski, Rotarian Keith Sichler had the privilege of presenting the award at the presentation
  • Whyalla Secondary College: Two students were celebrated for their outstanding efforts:  Brodie McRae (Year 9/10) and Drake Beatty (Year 11/12) Both students received awards in recognition of their positive impact within the local community.

Significance of the Awards

These awards not only celebrate academic achievement, but more importantly, they recognise students who have gone above and beyond in their service to others. The Rotary Club of Whyalla continues to encourage community-minded values and leadership among young people, ensuring that the spirit of giving and teamwork remains strong in Whyalla's schools.
