Peter Fulton was the guest speaker at our last meeting, his presentation was extremely informative as well gave use great insight into some of the projects his company has been involved in, including the new Port Augusta Bridge.

John Cagney presents John with a small memento for his presentation.

Peter Fulton is the Managing Director of Walling Systems who were established in 1992 and expanded into Whyalla following the GFC in 2008.  They are presently contracted to provide precast concrete supports for the Pt. Augusta Bridge Duplication project. The precast supports which weigh 33 tonnes are cast in Whyalla and transported by road to Pt. Augusta. Walling Systems have made 21 of them and the last is due out this Friday. Much of the labour and materials are sourced locally which means a high level of revenue is directed back into the local economy.
Over the years, Walling Systems have constructed the sea wall at the Whyalla Foreshore and repaired the Mullaquana Bridge when it broke last December. They have also constructed tourist viewing platforms on the cliff tops at Nullarbor.
This was a very entertaining presentation and prompted a lot of questions from members.
