Glen Eden Award

Three representatives of the Rotary Club of Whyalla attended the University of SA, Whyalla Campus, Student Acknowledgement evening.  PDG Jane Owens, President Michele Hart and President Elect Brian Herd.

On the evening there were ten partners and sponsors, seventeen categories and twenty-five students presented with awards.

The RC of Whyalla Presented the Glen Eden excellence in mental health prize to Johanna (Kim) Barberien (Nursing) and Jessica Zacher (Primary Education)

This prize is named after Past District Governor Glen Eden. Glen was a valued member of the Rotary Club of Whyalla and gave 55 years of service.  This student, in the eyes of the university, has excelled in their studies.  The successful applicant has demonstrated outstanding contribution in increasing their own knowledge in mental health; demonstrate knowledge in mental health services available to people who live with mental illness in our community and encourage others in promoting mental health.

This prize is indeed a prestigious honour and we know that both Jessica and Kim are exceptionally deserving recipients.
