End Polio
Oct 14, 2025 6:15 PM
Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years, and we’ve made incredible progress in the fight to rid the world of it forever. As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, we've helped to reduced polio cases by more than 99.9 percent. It’s crucial to eradicate polio from the last two countries where it remains endemic and to keep other countries polio-free. If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year. |

Wakakirri Dance Competition
Oct 28, 2025 6:15 PM
Last month, 38 children from Samaritan College participated in the Wakakirri Dance Competition, which celebrates storytelling through dance. This required families to travel to Adelaide for two nights, a significant financial commitment for families in our regional community. The students won a State Award and were invited to perform at the official awards night in Adelaide on the 11th of September. This was an incredible achievement for the children, for Whyalla, and for regional arts, and a chance for them to showcase their talent on a State stage. With support from the Rotary Club of Whyalla and College families and the dedication of teachers Mrs Murray, Miss Jodie, Mrs Edwards and some amazing parents the children were able to return for the awards night and perform on 11 September. Mrs Murray has agreed to come along and tell us about this incredible journey.
